Be an IoT Maker with Micro:bit & Sensors

FallMidTermCamp 2018 (Ages 12-14: Principal)

Imagine your child building their own functional keyboard with bananas, apples and strawberries. Imagine if your child can hack shoes that light up in the dark. All this stuff can happen from the beautiful marriage between hardware and software.

Internet of Things (IoT) is all about designing, sensing and hacking. In this camp, we’ll define problems your kids want to solve, asking what sensors would work in those scenarios, mixing-and-matching hardware parts to see how we can solve our problems. We’ll use the help of Micro:bit to create beautiful displays and power our design.

Key Takeaways:

1. Getting kids comfortable with the hardware behind devices
2. Problem-solving skills: getting kids to observe the problems around them, and see how we can solve them
3. Getting kids to understand basic circuitry and electronics

What to bring:

1. Laptop (PC or Mac), Power Adapter
2. Tuition fee includes micro:bit, battery case and USB cable
